Itasca Fire Department

The Itasca Fire Department is a volunteer Fire Department run by 15 volunteer firefighters. Itasca Fire Department's coverage area is 113 square miles with approximately 3000 people living within the Fire District. The Itasca Fire Department runs approximately 500 calls a year which is continuing to rise.
 The firefighters are your neighbors and friends who dedicate their lives to protecting our citizens. 


The Itasca Fire Department meets every Monday at 6 pm at the Fire Station.

Leadership

The Itasca Volunteer Fire Department has multiple officers to ensure the Fire Department runs smoothly.
​The Chief of the Fire Department is Chief Cameron Offutt. The officers of the Itasca Fire Department is Assistant Chief Joe Arellano, Captain Jethro Imhoff and Training Coordinator Madyson Lyles.

Apparatus 


The Itasca Fire Department has 6 apparatus that the fire department uses to protect the citizens.

Engine 118 is the primary engine used on house fires, car wreaks and other emergencies.

Tanker 118 is used to provide water to emergency scenes when fire hydrants are not in the area or functioning. Tanker 118 is also used to assist in traffic control on the highway.

Brush 118 is used for grass fires as well as medical calls.

Brush 218 is used for grass fires.

​Command 118 is used for incidents where a command is needed to be established as well as to respond to medical calls.

Squad 118 is used for the Itasca Aux to provide rehab to the firefighters. 

Training

The Itasca Fire Department offers 6+ hours of in house training per month led by the Captain. The Fire Department also offers training at yearly SFFMA classes as well as sending firefighters to Texas A&M Municipal Fire School. Another incentive being offered is Fire Academy at Hill College Fire Academy to members who work hard and show dedication to the City and Fire Department.

Events

The Itasca Fire Department continually holds events for the citizens. The large events that the Fire Department holds is Cinco De Mayo ran by the Auxiliary, 4th of July Fireworks Show and Fund fair. Every Month with 5th Saturday we host our Pancake Breakfast with homemade Biscuits and Gravy! Each event is organized and ran by volunteers.

Recruitment

The Itasca Fire Department is always looking for new members to help protect the citizens. A few important things to know is:

-Must be over the age of 18
-Must hold valid drivers license
-Must not have any type of felony convictions
-Must not have any type of misdemeanor involving theft or domestic violence
-Must live within the Itasca Fire Department service district
-Must agree to random drug screenings as well as background check
