On February 15, 2016, small towns across Texas were a abuzz with the information gathered by the FBI and published on the website mysanantonio.com, listing the 30 safest town in Texas with population under 10,000.
Itasca made that impressive list, coming in at #25, with only 2 violent crimes and 7 property crimes on the books for the time period. The photo of City Hall was also published on the website.
Itascans should be very proud of this honor.
The City of Itasca has taken over all the records and the sell of cemetery plots. A lot of work is being done to renovate the cemetery after the heavy rains we have experienced in the last several years. Recently the Flag Pole was straightened and a new flag was donated, repaired the roads, purchasing new signage and insuring the cemetery is looking as beautiful as ever. If you would like to make a financial donation, have any questions about lots and records or need to make a payment, please contact City Hall at 254-687-2201 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
